2010 Season

Chairman’s forward.

Dear Reader,

Please allow me the opportunity of welcoming you to our cricket club, and hope that you will enjoy our company and be made to feel at home - whether as a player, supporter, parent, or spectator.

During the winter months the club’s committee has worked hard to ensure that once again the season will be packed with cricket for all to enjoy. This year our senior sides will be competing in Division 5 of the Two Counties League, and Divisions 2 & 4 of the PDQ League, whilst our junior boys and girls will be competing in the NEDCB ‘under 12’ Div 3 league in addition to the ever popular kwick cricket.

In line with the club development, then we have organised cricket nets for the senior players to be held prior to the seasons start at Essex University, with the intention of running weekly outdoor nets at the ground during the playing season. For the juniors, then once again we will look to provide kwick and ‘hard ball’ coaching sessions on Saturday mornings, with actual ‘hard ball’ games taking place during the summer evenings, alongside the bonanza of kwick cricket tournaments.

Throughout the year then it is the intention of me and the club committee that we will work hard to ensure we achieve our objectives in providing those playing for Boxted Cricket Club a better and first class playing experience, with the intention that you are made to feel welcome and that you enjoy the pleasure of the game - for you are the future of this club.

In conclusion I would like to wish you all the very best for the season, and thank you for all the support and hard work I know that you will give. Together we can make 2010 a successful season both on and off the field of play.
