Dear All,
Thank you to those who made an effort last Saturday ,especially since the work was brought forward at short notice due to anticipated bad weather ,
I think we had 15 people at one point , which might be close to a club record !!
Also a number did e mail me saying they could not make it for various reasons, so thanks for your courtesy in that regard .
On the day we managed to spike the wicket ,distribute 70 odd bags of loam and finish off with grass seed . Also, sight screens went away and a few people tackled the tricky and time-consuming job of dismantling our net ( sadly vandalized and a potential liability to us if left as it was ) . Finally a guard has been put around the wicket to discourage too much footfall over the winter .
Our groundsman , Graham Francis, would like me to pass on his thanks . He was very impressed with the turn out and hard work and he is not known to be easily impressed ( sorry Graham ,couldn't resist that one !).
Regards
Steve
