Michael Dell & Ian Evans had chipped in with a wicket each before a min revival was thwarted by the returning Sexton and Mathew Francis 2-4. Skipper Mike Pearce behind the stumps kept well and was rewarded with 3 catches.

In reply Boxted started well with Ian Evans 38 and Rohan Khaira 19 adding 36 inside 6 overs before Khaira was adjudged LBW. Another wicket quickly fell, but another debutant Jason Wilkins 21 added 40 with Evans for the 3rd wicket to take the score to 88 before both fell in quick succession. On Sunday unbeaten Boxted visited Tiptree and Great Braxted. Losing the toss Boxted were inserted on a wet wicket that had some very uneven bounce to say the least. Paul Harris and Richard Sexton opened the batting and soon found that they were going to have to battle for every run. Harris was bowled early by one that kept low and that bought together Sexton and Richard Springett. Both dug in very well and weathered some good bowling. Sexton started to play some good shots before mistiming one to midwicket where he was caught for 21. Matt Francis joind Springett and a stand of 36 followed before Springett 23 was bowled after a lot of hard work by him. Francis was bowled a couple of overs later for a quick 19. This put Jason Wilkins and Steve Nolan together who batted several overs on a pitch now starting to dry. Both batted well but Nolan 18 was bowled after trying to push the run rate along. Wilkins 19 followed shortly after and Jon Wilson was unable to add much to the total. The tail was quickly mopped up with the only resistance coming from Mark Lawrence. Boxted finished 119 all out.

In the second innings the conditions had vastly improved with the sun now shining. Wilson (3-8) and Wilkins (4-25) opened the bowling and both picked up where they left off Saturday in excellent form. Both bowled devastating opening spells taking 7 wickets between them 6 of which were clean bowled. Sexton and a very pacer Nolan took over from the opening pair and Sexton soon took two well deserved wickets before Nolan took a catch of his own bowling to win the match.
