27 Apr 2015 : Boxted CC - Junior Section - Coaching sessions & Match details
Dear all,

With the senior games already underway, I am delighted to say that starting next week, the Junior season for 2015 kicks off.

This year our coaching routine is as follows;

All coaching will take place on Saturday mornings; running from 2nd May through till and inclusive 29th August (although are subject to cancellation due to adverse weather – where we will look to post on the club website if sessions need to be cancelled).

09:15 - 10:15am – this session is primarily aimed at those playing Kwik cricket; those new to the game, or those not quite comfortable playing hardball cricket

10:30 – 11:30am – this session is aimed at those who already play hardball cricket; or those who wish to play and that the club coaches agree are comfortable / confident to play.

The sessions will be managed by the club’s senior Coach – Dan Skinner; and supported by various members of the coaching staff. (Please note all the coaches are ECB qualified)

This season, we have organised and provided cricket for both a variety of ages and abilities; and gratefully the following people have agreed to support the teams, as shown below;

Kwik Cricket – Paul Stuart (01206 838898 or 07768 458414) and Steve Evans (01206 845828 or 07798 898275)

Under 11s – Terry Breen (01206 855861 or 07717 206757) and supported by Mike Kane

Under 14s – Garry Green (01206 271339 or 07941 803552) and supported by Steve Crayston

Under 15s – Kevin Lines (01206 272414 0r 07961 932648) and supported by Jon Wilson

To ensure every child gets an opportunity of a game then I ask that, for;

               Kwik cricket – Inform either Paul or Steve that your child wishes a game

               Hardball (U11s,14s, & 15s) – update your child’s availability of the club’s website

For those playing the hardball version, then throughout previous years, the club has always looked to provide a ‘cricket tea’ – this exactly as provided during senior matches. With this in mind, and in looking to keep up this respected tradition, we would appreciate that if / when your child plays a home game in either the U11s,14s, or 15s, that something is brought in for the table spread – this could be in the form of sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps, cakes etc. HOWEVER please can we ask that NO foods be brought in if they may / do contain Nuts.

It would also be appreciated that anyone able to assist with helping out at the games – either by setting out the food, or making up soft drinks – or generally wishing to become more involved with the club’s development, then could they make themselves known to the team managers or myself.

By way of an apology, I admit my presence at coaching sessions and matches will be vastly reduced this year; as owing to work commitments I find myself working shifts – where at stages I work 3 continuous weeks on the trot (inclusive of weekends / days / late’s / nights).

Yet, my passion and what time I do have available, is committed to ensuring that the club provides the cricket your children wish to play, and within a safe and secure environment in which you wish them to be in.

Therefore if you have any concerns, please feel free to get in touch with me on the contact numbers below;

               01206 842589 or 07891 798239 or murphy.harris@btinternet.com<mailto:murphy.harris@btinternet.com>

Finally all that remains for me at present is to wish you all an enjoyable and safe season – where hopefully the weather will be warm and dry, and all the games get to be played.

Regards,

Paul Harris
Junior Development Manager
