Dear all,
I know this won't be for everybody , but our groundsman ,Graham Francis , needs the club to start
pitching in to help him with what is at times a difficult and tiring job.
We have been very lucky to have Graham and some of his predecessors take on the task of preparing
pitches on a regular basis and maintain the square, but the point has come now where we need to spread
the load if we want to continue the club in the long term.
To that end I have arranged for Graham to do an initial training session on Monday 12th August at 7.00pm.
He will give us some of the basics of what he does and thereafter we can start helping with some aspects of his job ,
with the eventual intention that he can step down at some point in the knowledge that the wicket is still in
safe hands .
I look forward to seeing some of you on the 12th .
