Boxted Cricket Club – Social Media Policy

 

This policy provides guidance for club members’ use of social media, which should be broadly understood for purposes of this policy to include blogs, wikis, microblogs, message boards, chatrooms, electronic newsletters, online forums, social networking sites, and other sites and services that permit users to share information with others in a contemporaneous manner.

 

PROCEDURES

 

The following principles apply to use of social media on behalf of Boxted CC as well as personal use of social media when referencing Boxted CC.

  • Members must be aware of and adhere to the Club’s Code of Conduct and other relevant policies when using social media in reference to the Club.

  • Although not an exclusive list, some specific examples of prohibited social media conduct include posting commentary, content, or images that are defamatory, pornographic, proprietary, harassing, libellous, or that could create a hostile environment.

  • Member should not publish information that is considered confidential.

  • If members encounter any antagonism they should refrain from further engagement and report the matter to the Club’s committee.

  • Members should ensure that they are aware of appropriate permissions being given before they publish any images of current or former members. As necessary members should obtain permission to use any copyright material, trademarks or other intellectual property.
